There is not a specific designated long-term parking lot at Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport. There are options, such as the economy lot, a larger lot that is further from the terminals.

Alternative Transportation to SJC

Although some people order car or taxi services to get them to or from the San Jose airport, this is usually the last resort as the fare can be costly with different fees and rates. Taxi rides from the San Jose airport begin with a base rate of $15.00. If you are being picked up by a taxi, you can get an on-demand taxi at Stop 2 of Terminal A or Stop 1 of Terminal B; if you’ve already reserved a taxi, go to Stop 3 of Terminal A or Stop 11 of Terminal B.

You can also take a ridesharing service like Uber or Lyft to San Jose airport. For airport pick-ups, you’ll want to meet your rideshare car at Terminal A’s Stop 1 and Terminal B’s Stop 8 & 9. Airport drop-offs are the same as any other drop-off, at the Departure’s section of your terminal. The Airport Flyer stops at the Santa Clara Caltrain station and the San Jose Metro Light Rail. The VTA also has 7-day maximum free airport parking at these stations: Almaden, Blossom Hill, Branham, Capitol, Cottle, Curtner, Ohlone/Chynoweth, Santa Teresa, Snell, and Tamien.

Picking Up At SJC

If you need to pick someone up at the San Jose International Airport, you can take advantage of the two Cellphone Waiting Areas where you can park and wait for free.

Inside SJC

There are two pre-security areas designated for animal relief outside of Terminal A. There’s one outside of Terminal B. Post-security, there is another location between Gate 16 and 17.

There’s a variety of different restaurants available within both terminals. Bay Area favorite, Peet’s, can be found in a few different locations as well as Starbucks. There are also water fountains that can fill your bottles with filtered water for free. They also provide compostable bottles as well.

There are a few charging stations throughout the airport in addition to the power plugs under most seats. There are also a few fun amenities such as the Optic Wash kiosks, massage chairs, and two pianos.
