If you’re taking a late night or early morning flight, you might want to consider the ever-popular airport hotel bundle, covered in the next section.
Bundle packages
The best way to assure you have enough time to get to the airport is by staying at an airport hotel the night before. This eliminates the majority of driving and traffic on the day of your travels. As more travelers take advantage of off-airport parking rates, airport hotels too have begun to cater those with parking needs. Now many DTW hotels with parking offer bundle packages so you can buy discounted parking and one night’s stay at the hotel. These are sold at a reduced rate and are often cheaper than airport parking on its own. They’re often called “Park Sleep Fly” packages or “Park and Fly” packages.
These package deals are most ideal for traveling families and business travelers. Not only does it provide travelers the opportunity to finish up any last-minute errands, but it also allows them to freshen up and get some rest before a flight. Those coming back on a late flight after a trip may opt to stay at the hotel at the end of their journey to avoid potentially dangerous late-night driving. Most of the airport hotels also include a complimentary shuttle to Detroit Metro airport.

Uber and Lyft are both allowed to operate at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. You can wait for your Lyft at Level 4 of McNamara Terminal parking garage or at Level 1 of the North Terminal parking garage.
